I remember seeing him in an interview once. He had been asked what accomplishment he was the most proud of. He said, “Being married to my wife Judith.”
I loved Rene’s warmth and kindness and he made my children laugh with his wonderful French Chef’s song in the Little Mermaid. They so needed it at the time.. lovely musings Judith!
Oh, Judith, I can't find the words to express how I felt reading this diary entry. I didn't know him of course, but I do know that he could make 2,000 people laugh all at once. Years ago, at a convention, I heard him speak to a crowd about that size and will never forget it. He was sweet, kind, and funny. I understand he was at the venue until after 9 PM that evening, signing autographs, because he wanted to be sure that everyone who wanted one, got one. I'd love to know how he got to slide down those wet rocks under Falling Water's cantilevers. When I was there (in Autumn when the colors all around were gorgeous), I got the feeling that if anyone left the group, security would be there very quickly. Thank you for this wonderful remembrance of your husband, who from everything I've read and heard, was a remarkable and a very nice man.
thank you, as always, for the attention to my postings. and your message, below, 'warms me heart!'
